Fredro, Andrzej Maksymilian, 1620 (ca.)-1679 · 1660 · Dantisci : Sumptibus Georgii Försteri S.R.M. bibliopolae · 22 pictures

A Latin collection of political and moral writings by the Polish statesman Andrzej Maksymilian Fredro, printed at Danzig by Georg Förster in 1660, with an appended set of emblems on the education of princes, addressed to rulers and learned readers. The plates are small oval copperplate emblems in dense hatching, each framed by strapwork borders and captioned on a ribbon scroll: an eagle over a burning faggot, a sowing hand above ploughmen, an open book in storm clouds, a hammer and anvil, with hilltop towers on low horizons.
