Anecdotes of painters who have resided or been born in England : with critical remarks on their productions
Edward Edwards's 1808 continuation of Horace Walpole's anecdotes of painters in England, printed in London by Luke Hansard for a consortium of booksellers and aimed at collectors and connoisseurs. The plates are stipple and line-engraved bust portraits of artists after their own self-portraits, set in oval borders with dense cross-hatched grounds, columns, palettes and drapery.
