Anglo-American pottery; old English china with American views; a manual for collectors
A collector's manual by ceramics scholar Edwin Atlee Barber, published in Philadelphia in 1901, cataloguing English transfer-printed earthenware made for the American market. Halftone plates show plates and dishes head-on: central vignettes of public buildings, bridges, harbors and rural scenes ringed by floral, scroll, and medallion borders, useful as circular frames, border repeats, and small landscape motifs.
