Anglo-American pottery; old English china with American views, a manual for collectors
A collector's manual by ceramics scholar Edwin Atlee Barber, published in Indianapolis by the Press of the Clayworker in 1899, cataloguing English transfer-printed earthenware made for the American market. Halftone plates show plates and dishes head-on: central vignettes of buildings, bridges and river landscapes ringed by dense borders of roses, shells and scrollwork, plus printed maker's marks.
