1789 · Paris, Masson [etc.] · 11 pictures

Annales de chimie et de physique, a French scientific journal begun in Paris in 1789 and continued by Masson, written by and for working chemists and physicists. The images indexed here are not diagrams but the letterpress ornaments between articles: small woodcut vignettes of flower baskets, rose and daisy sprays, rocaille cartouches, a beehive with scattering bees and a reclining putto, useful as section breaks, tailpieces, and frame elements.
