Annales de chimie et de physique is a French scientific periodical begun in Paris in 1789, carrying chemistry and physics papers for researchers and instrument makers. The pictures here are letterpress printer's ornaments: woodcut flower baskets, swagged garlands, leafy sprays and ribboned wheat, all in coarse black line on laid paper, useful as section breaks, tailpieces and borders.
