Annals of Parisian typography : containing an account of the earliest typographical establishments of Paris; and notices and illustrations of the most remarkable productions of the Parisian Gothic press; compiled principally to shew its general character; and its particular influence upon the early English press
A bibliographical survey of the early Paris presses by William Parr Greswell, printed in London in 1818 for antiquarian collectors and students of English printing history. The plates reproduce Gothic printers' devices in facsimile woodcut: monogram shields held by wild men, angels, shepherds and craftsmen, framed by foliage, banderole mottoes and lettered borders against dense black hatching — usable as emblem frames, marks and ornamental letter panels.
