Annual exhibition
Exhibition catalogue issued by the New York Water Color Club for its annual show, printed in New York in 1890 for exhibition visitors, artists, and buyers of pictures. The plates here are trade material rather than art reproductions: an ornate crosshatched hatter's label for Dunlap & Co., a club emblem of torches ringing lettering, and a wood-engraved tube of flake white oil paint, useful as period advertising lettering, monogram frames, and artists' supply spot illustrations.
