Annual reports of the Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art (later the Philadelphia Museum of Art), issued in Philadelphia from 1878 for trustees, members, and the school's design students. The plates are halftone photographs of accessioned furniture and woodwork against blank studio backdrops: carved oak panels with interlaced strapwork and foliate rosettes, turned and columned table legs, inlaid cabinets, and upholstered chairs, useful as ornament sources and as flat, grainy object photography.
