Annual report of the Philadelphia Museum of Art
Annual reports of the Pennsylvania Museum and School of Industrial Art (later the Philadelphia Museum of Art), issued in Philadelphia from 1878 for trustees, members, and donors as a record of acquisitions, buildings, and school work. The plates are halftone photographs: classical museum facades with columned porticoes and bare trees, early automobiles at the entrance, and installed period rooms with American mahogany furniture, carved mantels, and patterned carpets, useful as soft-grained architectural and interior stock.
