Antica basilicografia
Pompeo Sarnelli's study of early Christian basilicas and church architecture, printed in Naples in 1686 at the expense of bookseller Antonio Bulifon for antiquarian and clerical readers. The plates here are printers' ornaments: woodcut tailpieces and headbands of symmetrical flowers, acanthus scrolls, and small nude putti, usable as chapter dividers, borders, or vector-traced floral motifs.
