Antiperistasi Pisane sul risorgimento e cultura delle belle arti
An Italian antiquarian argument about the revival of the fine arts in Pisa, written by the priest-scholar Ranieri Tempesti and printed at Pisa by Sebastiano Nistri in 1812 for local historians and connoisseurs. The plates are unshaded outline engravings after medieval carving and painting: Romanesque capitals with bird-bodied figures and oxen, haloed saints in diapered robes, and separate studies of stigmatized hands and feet.
