The antiquarian itinerary, comprising specimens of architecture, monastic, castellated, and domestic; with other vestiges of antiquity in Great Britain. Accompanied with descriptions

Storer, James, 1771-1853 · 1815 · London, Published for the proprietors by Wm. Clarke... J. Murray... S. Bagster... J.M. Richardson... and Sherwood and Co. .. · 82 pictures

A seven-volume antiquarian survey of British architecture issued in London from 1815, engraved and compiled by James Storer for subscribers interested in monastic, castellated and domestic remains. Copperplate views and small wood-engraved vignettes show ruined abbey arcades, castle keeps, gatehouses and towers wrapped in ivy, drawn with fine hatching and wide tonal skies, useful for cut-out ruin silhouettes, architectural detail, and small headpiece ornaments.
