Antique gems and rings
C. W. King's two-volume study of engraved gems, intaglios and finger-rings from Etruscan, Greek, Roman and Sasanian antiquity, published by Bell and Daldy in London in 1872 for collectors and antiquarian scholars. Line engravings enlarge each gem into an oval or circular field with beaded or hatched borders, giving clean outline figures, helmeted warriors, horsemen and inscriptions usable as seals, medallions and roundels.
