Antique gems and rings
Charles William King's two-volume study of ancient engraved gems and finger rings, published by Bell in London in 1872 for antiquarians, collectors and gem dealers. Numbered plates hold outline engravings of intaglio and cameo designs in roundels and ovals — nude figures, winged genii, horses, lions and masks — often framed by meander, rope or bead borders usable as seals, medallions and spot motifs.
