Antique views of ye towne of Boston
A local-history picture book of old Boston buildings compiled by James Henry Stark and issued in Boston in 1882 by the Photo-Electrotype Engraving Co., aimed at antiquarians and residents interested in vanished colonial landmarks. The 122 plates are captioned line engravings and photo-electrotypes of houses, taverns, churches and theatres, mostly single structures seen from the street with a few figures and trees, offering clean architectural profiles, brickwork and window grids, sign lettering, and plate captions set in small caps.
