Antiquities of Great Britain, : illustrated in views of monasteries, castles, and churches, now existing.
A topographical print series issued in London in 1807 by draughtsman Thomas Hearne and engraver William Byrne, recording monasteries, castles and churches then standing in ruin for antiquarian subscribers. The 81 sepia-toned plates set broken masonry, tracery windows and roofless towers against open skies, with grazing sheep and small figures for scale; useful for ruin silhouettes, stonework texture and soft aquatint tonal gradients.
