Les antiquités d'Herculanum : avec leurs explications en françois
A French engraved record of the wall paintings excavated at Herculaneum, etched by François-Anne David with texts by Sylvain Maréchal and issued in Paris from 1780 for antiquarians and artists. Small framed plates, often two to a page, show winged figures, reclining nudes, garden shrines and floating cupids in fine line and stipple, useful for borders, vignette frames and isolated classical figures.
