Apologia in difesa del Cavaliere Conte Sertorio Orsato contra le censure dell'autore del Museo Veronese
A 1752 Paduan polemic by Giovanni Domenico Polcastro, printed by Giuseppe Comino, defending the antiquarian Sertorio Orsato against Scipione Maffei's criticisms for a readership of Italian scholars of inscriptions and antiquities. The plates are typographic ornaments: woodcut headpieces and tailpieces built from acanthus scrolls, flower baskets, cornucopias, winged cherub heads, and an emblem group of globe, open book and instruments, usable as symmetrical rules, chapter openers and frame elements.
