Apotelesmata philosophica Mercvrii trivmphantis : de vera et svmma antiquissimorum philosophorum medicina : in qvibvs elvcidatio & clauis totius operis
A Latin alchemical treatise by Martinus Copus on the medicine of the ancient philosophers, printed at Magdeburg by Andreas Seydner in 1601 for learned readers of Paracelsian chemistry. The pictures are small letterpress woodcut tailpieces: triangular strapwork cartouches holding a bearded grotesque mask or a displayed eagle among scrolling foliage, printed with heavy inked lines on laid paper, useful as section breaks, masks and heraldic spot ornaments.
