Apotheosis vel consecratio Homeri, sive, Lapis antiquissimus in quo poëtarum principis Homeri consecratio sculpta est
A Latin antiquarian treatise by the Dutch scholar Gisbert Cuper, printed at Amsterdam in 1683, on the marble relief of the Apotheosis of Homer by Archelaos of Priene, addressed to classical scholars and collectors of coins and sculpture. The plates are line engravings of Greek and Roman coins shown as beaded circles enclosing seated poets, winged sphinxes, temples, standing figures and profile portrait heads with Greek and Latin lettering around the rim, useful as ready-made roundels, medallion frames and inscribed circular borders.
