Applied mechanics: an elementary general introduction to the theory of structures and machines
An engineering textbook by James Henry Cotterill, published by Macmillan in London in 1884 to teach structures, machines, gearing and hydraulics to students and practising engineers. The plates are line diagrams: force and velocity vectors, pitch-angle constructions, derrick-crane frameworks lettered A–E, and curved streamline families with arrowheads, usable as spare geometric line art and technical notation.
