Aratou Soleōs Phainomena kai Diosēmeia
A 1672 Oxford edition of Aratus's Greek verse on the constellations and weather signs, issued from the Sheldonian Theatre under John Fell with the Catasterismi of Eratosthenes and Theon's commentary, for scholars of Greek astronomy. Engraved circular star maps fill the plates with outlined mythological beasts and figures over ruled coordinate grids and zodiac bands, while the text carries small woodcut diagrams of circles, triangles and lettered rectangles usable as line-art ornament.
