Archaiologikē Ephēmeris is the journal of the Archaeological Society at Athens, begun in 1862 and issued in Greek for scholars of Greek inscriptions and excavated material. Halftone plates and line drawings record inscribed stone blocks with incised lettering, broken marble torsos, painted pottery reassembled from sherds, and reliefs, all shot against plain grounds — useful for lettering references, fragment silhouettes and grainy monochrome texture.
