The Architect & engineer of California and the Pacific Coast
A monthly architectural trade journal issued in San Francisco from 1905 by the Architect and Engineer Co., reporting new construction to West Coast architects, engineers, and contractors. The plates are halftone photographs of recently completed buildings shot square to the facade — high schools, banks, apartment and commercial blocks — with captions naming architect and town, alongside floor plans and ornament details useful for period facade elevations, window rhythms, and lettered caption lines.
