An architect's sketch book
A published travel sketchbook by Boston architect Robert Swain Peabody, issued by Houghton Mifflin in 1912 for fellow architects and students of design. The plates are loose pen-and-pencil field studies of English and European church towers, spires, porches and village streets, many signed with a place name and date in the architect's own hand, useful for open-line drawing, handwritten captions and isolated silhouettes of Gothic masonry.
