An architectural monograph on some old houses on the southern coast of Maine
An architectural monograph from the White Pine Series, written by Boston architect Charles Howard Walker and edited by Russell F. Whitehead in 1918, surveying Federal and colonial houses on Maine's southern coast for practicing architects, builders and lumber dealers. The plates are sepia halftone photographs of clapboard and stucco facades with shuttered windows, fanlit doorways, roof balustrades and bare winter trees, plus measured details of cornices, mantels and stair rails.
