An architectural monograph on the Boston post road,
An architectural monograph from the White Pine Series, written by Peter Augustus Pindar and issued in Saint Paul in 1920 for architects, builders and draftsmen studying colonial New England building along the Boston Post Road. The plates are duotone halftone photographs of clapboard and shingled houses — gambrel roofs, pedimented doorways with fanlights, shuttered sash windows, fieldstone walls and overhanging elms — usable as textures, silhouettes of vernacular buildings, and reference for period doorway detail.
