A 1922 number of the White Pine Series of Architectural Monographs, photographed by Kenneth Clark and edited by Russell F. Whitehead for the White Pine Bureau in St. Paul, surveying colonial houses of Newport, Rhode Island for architects and builders. The plates are duotone photographs of clapboard facades, gambrel roofs, pedimented doorways, shuttered sash windows and fenced dooryards, with occasional measured details—useful for period street textures, shadow studies and wood-siding pattern.
