Architecture generale de Vitruve
Claude Perrault's abridged French edition of Vitruvius, printed in 1681 under a false Amsterdam imprint for architects and educated readers of the classical orders. Engraved plates set lettered elevations, column bases, Corinthian and Ionic capitals, entablature sections and Ionic volute constructions against ruled geometric diagrams, giving designers measured architectural details, acanthus foliage, fluting and masonry textures usable as line ornament.
