Architecture, ou, Art de bien bastir
Jean Martin's 1547 French translation of Vitruvius's ten books on architecture, printed in Paris with woodcuts attributed to Jean Goujon, made for French builders, masons and patrons learning the classical orders. The plates are line woodcuts of columns, bases, capitals, entablatures and fluting, drawn in elevation and section with hatched shading and small numbered measure scales, useful as clean architectural profiles, modular diagrams and ornament details.
