Areika
Areika is an archaeological excavation report by David Randall-MacIver and Leonard Woolley, with Meroitic inscriptions read by F. Ll. Griffith, published at Oxford in 1909 for the University Museum's Nubian expedition and written for scholars of Nubian antiquities. Its 108 plates are grey halftone photographs of stone offering tables, carved stelae and pottery fragments shot against plain grounds, plus site plans, useful for incised geometric motifs, worn relief silhouettes and eroded stone texture.
