Armorial families : a directory of gentlemen of coat-armour
A reference directory of British armigerous families compiled by the heraldic writer Arthur Charles Fox-Davies and published in Edinburgh by T.C. & E.C. Jack in 1905, for genealogists and claimants to coat-armour. The 424 line-block cuts show shields with helm, mantling and crest — lions, castles, crosses, swords, beasts and motto scrolls — drawn in heavy black outline usable as ready-made emblems, badges or monogram frames.
