A 1916 crochet pattern pamphlet issued by Charles E. Bentley through the Bentley-Franklin Company in New York, sold to home needleworkers making edgings and insertions. Halftone photographs show pale cotton lace strips against black grounds: filet grids, scalloped points, looped picot borders, and a hook mid-stitch, giving crisp white-on-black texture and repeating geometric band motifs.
