Art culture : a hand-book of art technicalities and criticisms
A handbook of art technicalities and criticism drawn from John Ruskin's writings, published by John Wiley and Son in New York in 1873 for students and amateur readers learning to draw and judge drawing. The 66 illustrations are small pen-and-ink teaching diagrams: sprays of leaves and branches in open outline, hatched studies of rock strata and broken ground, and paired curves labelled a and b comparing good and bad line — useful as spot ornament, marginal marks, and examples of economical hatching.
