Arte de la tintura de sedas
A Spanish translation of Pierre Joseph Macquer's treatise on dyeing silk, printed in Madrid in 1771 by Blas Román for dyers, silk manufacturers and chemists. The scanned plates here are the binding's marbled papers: grey-green grounds broken by dense indigo cell networks, white droplet rings and thin rust-orange veins, usable as tileable backgrounds, cover textures or organic mottled fills.
