Art and handicraft in the Woman's Building of the World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago, 1893
A survey of the women's art and craft exhibits at the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, edited by Maud Howe Elliott and issued by Rand, McNally in 1894 for exposition visitors and collectors of decorative art. Halftone plates reproduce painted ceilings, carved and inlaid cabinet panels, embroidered book covers and pulpit hangings, and pictorial tapestries, most framed by dense ornamental borders that can be lifted as scroll, arabesque and strapwork frames.
