The Arthur Jerome Eddy collection of modern paintings and sculpture
An exhibition and collection catalogue issued by the Art Institute of Chicago for the modern paintings and sculpture assembled by Chicago lawyer and collector Arthur Jerome Eddy, aimed at museum visitors and collectors of early twentieth-century European art. The plates are halftone reproductions of Fauve and early abstract canvases by Derain, Kandinsky, Dunoyer de Segonzac and others, offering coarse-grained tonal blocks, heavy brushed contours and broken landscape forms usable as abstract texture, cropped shape studies or period plate layouts with caption rules.
