Artificial and natural flight [microform]
A technical treatise on flight by the inventor Hiram Stevens Maxim, published in 1908 by Whittaker in London and New York for engineers and early aviation experimenters. The plates mix engineering line diagrams — graduated arc scales, lever test rigs, lettered side elevations of braced aeroplane frames — with halftone photographs of propeller blades laid out on black, useful for measurement graphics, keyed callout labels, and silhouette groupings.
