Art in Great Britain and Ireland
A one-volume survey of British and Irish art from the Middle Ages onward, written by Walter Armstrong, director of the National Gallery of Ireland, and issued by Charles Scribner's Sons in New York in 1909 for general readers and students. Numbered halftone figures reproduce oil portraits, church tombs and effigies, and ruled architectural elevations such as Inigo Jones designs, giving designers soft-grained grey plates, oval portrait frames, and thin-line building drawings.
