Art in industry
A 1922 survey of industrial art education and manufacture, compiled by Charles R. Richards for the National Society for Vocational Education and the New York State Department of Education and published by Macmillan in New York for teachers, manufacturers, and trade schools. The plates shown are Renaissance-revival wood-engraved ornament — horizontal headpiece bands of strapwork and grotesque masks, winged caryatid figures flanking a dated cartouche, and a capital T set in a beaded oval — usable as rule-bounded page furniture, drop initials, and title panels.
