Artists of Abraham Lincoln portraits
A set of Civil War reportage images from the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, dated 1862, pairing Henry Mosler's field sketches with the wood engravings cut from them for Harper's Weekly of September 20, 1862. Crowd scenes dominate: lines of men in stovepipe hats and caps enrolling for the draft, a river landing with gunboat and wagon train, and marching columns in open country, available both as loose graphite drawing and as finished hatched engraving for comparison.
