Art and man;
A 1918 Philadelphia study of art history and so-called primitive art, written by Edwin Swift Balch and Eugenia Macfarlane Balch for general readers and collectors. The plates are their own pen redrawings of carvings, rock art, and figurines, reduced to single unshaded contour lines: frontal figures with raised hands, blank eyes, and long looping limbs, useful as ready-made line motifs.
