A critical survey of Whistler's paintings, etchings and lithographs written by his lithographic printer Thomas R. Way with G.R. Dennis, published in London by G. Bell in 1903 for collectors and art students. The 54 halftone plates reproduce nocturnes, shopfronts, Thames scenes and figure lithographs as soft grey-black tonal masses, useful for muted value studies, faint line drawing and dark atmospheric grounds.
