The art of the Dresden gallery; notes and observations upon the old and modern masters and paintings in the royal collection
A gallery guide to the paintings of the Dresden royal collection, written by Julia de Wolf Addison and published in Boston by L.C. Page in 1907 for American travellers and art students. The plates are halftone reproductions of old master oils, mostly Dutch and Italian genre groups, tavern scenes, saints and allegorical figures, printed in soft brown-grey tones with heavy shadow and blurred edges that suit textural backgrounds and ghosted image work.
