A practical manual on stage makeup by the English painter and photographer Cavendish Morton, published in London by A. and C. Black in 1909 for actors, amateur players and producers. Halftone photographs of a single sitter made up as bearded elders, villains and character types, lit hard against black grounds, plus tonal sketches of heads; useful for dramatic chiaroscuro portrait heads, beard and wig shapes, and stagey facial expressions.
