A manual of amateur decorative art techniques compiled by Levina Buoncuore Urbino and Henry Day, published in Boston by J.E. Tilton in 1863 for home practitioners of drawing, painting, and ornamental craft. Wood-engraved initials, floral sprays, and scrollwork fill the margins, mixing fine outline penwork with solid black acanthus and hatched shading — usable as drop caps, corner fillers, and rules.
