Art & religion
Von Ogden Vogt's 1921 Yale University Press study of worship, liturgy and church design, written for American clergy and congregations rebuilding their sanctuaries. Halftone photographs show Gothic Revival naves, chancels, rood screens and stone towers by architects like Cram, Goodhue & Ferguson, giving designers grainy interior perspectives, tracery windows, vaulted arcades and silhouetted church exteriors set among trees.
