Art & religion
Von Ogden Vogt's Art & Religion, published by Yale University Press in 1921, argues for the place of art in worship for American clergy and church builders. Its plates are halftone photographs of church interiors — nave arcades, chancel arches, pulpits, pews and traceried windows — giving designers deep one-point perspectives and soft grey architectural texture, several credited to named architects.
