The arts and crafts of older Spain
Leonard Williams's three-volume survey of Spanish decorative arts, published in London by T.N. Foulis in 1907 for collectors, museum visitors and students of craft history. Halftone plates reproduce embroidered altar frontals, armorial tapestries, painted panels and patterned silks, mostly medieval and Renaissance, giving designers dense allover textile repeats, arcaded figure friezes and heraldic shield motifs in high-contrast grey.
